In 1986, the Kelvingrove Festival, sponsored by Radio Clyde, moved from its traditional home at Kelvingrove Bandstand to Queenspark, also departing from its model of showcasing local progressive and hard rock bands in favour of already better known pop bands. In protest, the bands who were not invited organised the Alternative Kelvingrove Festival at the Kelvingrove Bandstand. The line-up comprised Trident, Comedy of Errors, Lyin’ Rampant, Phobia and Glasgow.
